GP Surgery Access Bus
The scheme caters for anyone who has a genuine mobility difficulty, which would prevent you from travelling on conventional public transport. It uses a fully accessible vehicle with wheelchair access and picks up at your door to take you to your doctors and returns you home. The cost of the journey is ₤1 per person per return journey. Lanchester Medical Centre provides a basic NHS travel service. If you require any vaccines outwith the NHS travel programme, you will need to make an appointment at a travel clinic.
Please note that there is currently a national shortage of the Hep A vaccines which is affecting all GP surgeries and travel clinics. We may not be able to give you a Hep A vaccine in your travel consultation.
